Privacy
We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This page covers what this website collects, which is almost entirely the enquiry form.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number and whatever else you choose to put in the form — organisation, group size, preferred date and your message.
We also record the date and time, your browser's user agent string and your IP address. That is stored to help us deal with spam and abuse of the form, not to profile you.
We do not use analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers on this site. There are no cookies except the session cookie used by our own admin login, which you will never receive.
Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry, quote for the activity, and organise the booking if you go ahead.
To keep a record of who we have quoted, so a follow-up conversation does not start from nothing.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is stored in our own database and emailed to us. The email passes through our mail provider in transit.
If your booking involves a venue — a cellar door, a brewery, a caterer — we pass on only what that venue needs, usually a name, a headcount and a time.
We may disclose information where the law requires it. Otherwise, nobody else sees it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that turn into bookings are kept for seven years, which is what our tax and insurance obligations require.
Enquiries that do not turn into bookings are kept for two years and then deleted.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The database sits behind a firewall with access limited to us, and backups are encrypted.
No system is perfect. If we ever have a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will action it, normally within a few days and at no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to fix it. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
