Questions

Everything people ask us

If your question is not here, ask it on the enquiry form — the answer comes from a person, not a template.

Booking

How far ahead should we book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for a Team Ride or a Team Ride + Challenge. Fridays and anything in November or December fill earlier.

A Custom Team Ride needs at least one month's notice, because the route, activities, stops and any third-party arrangements are all planned specifically for your group.

How does booking work?

Send an enquiry with your rough numbers and date. We reply within one business day with a couple of options and an indicative price — no forms, no sales sequence.

When you are happy we send a written quote and a booking confirmation with the date, meeting point, timings and what to bring. Your team gets a single page they can forward.

Insurance documents come across at the same time, so your WHS or procurement team is not chasing them later.

How many people can come?

Our team experiences are built for 6–10 people. That is small enough for the group to stay together and actually talk, and large enough to feel like a proper team activity.

If your group is larger, tell us anyway — a Custom Team Ride can sometimes be planned in waves, and we will say honestly whether it will work.

Can you come to us?

The Team Ride and Team Ride + Challenge both run on our planned Perth riverfront route, starting and finishing at the Ellam Street car park in Victoria Park.

A Custom Team Ride can be planned around your workplace, conference venue or another suitable Perth location, depending on access and riding conditions. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether the space works.

What is your cancellation policy?

Move or cancel more than seven days out and there is no charge. Inside seven days we ask for 50% because the guide and the fleet are committed. Inside 48 hours it is the full amount.

Weather is the exception. If we call it off for weather, you are not charged and we reschedule.

Numbers can move up or down by a couple either way right up to the day — just tell us.

On the day

What actually happens on the day?

We meet you at the start point with the footbikes set up and ready to go.

You get a short introduction, a bike sized to you and a fitted helmet. Then a few easy practice minutes until everyone is comfortable, which is usually sooner than they expect.

Then you ride together at a relaxed group pace, with regular stops to regroup, take photos and enjoy the views.

At the end there is time to relax and chat, and — if you have asked for it — a coffee, ice cream, brunch or lunch stop.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain is fine and honestly quite good fun. We ride in it.

If the forecast is genuinely bad — storms, heavy rain, extreme heat or a total fire ban affecting the route — we will call you the day before and reschedule at no cost. If it turns on the day and we have to stop early, you are not charged for the part you did not get.

We would rather move a booking than run a miserable one.

Can we add food and drinks?

Yes, and it is usually worth doing. Tell us what you want and we will build the stop into the route rather than adding it on the end.

That might be a coffee or ice cream stop along the river, brunch partway, or lunch at the finish. We coordinate the stop as part of the experience.

Do you take photos?

Guides take photos through the ride and send them through afterwards, no charge, yours to use.

Tell us if anyone in the group should not be photographed and we will work around it.

Fitness & safety

Do we need any experience?

No. That is the whole point of it. If you can walk, you can footbike — you push with one foot, coast, and swap feet when you get tired. There are no gears, nothing to clip into, and stepping off is always allowed.

Every experience starts with a short introduction and a few easy practice minutes before anyone rides anywhere. We have not yet had someone who could not ride by the end of that.

What if someone in our group is not fit?

They will be fine, and they will not be the one holding everyone up. Footbiking is low impact and self-paced: you can push hard or you can roll along, and the effort is spread across both legs rather than concentrated the way cycling is.

There is no saddle, so none of the discomfort that stops people enjoying a bike ride. Groups with a thirty-year age spread ride together comfortably.

We ride at a relaxed group pace with regular stops to regroup, so taking it easy means having company rather than an audience.

Is it safe? Are you insured?

We carry public liability insurance and will send the certificate of currency to your procurement or WHS team before the booking is confirmed. Appropriate risk planning for your experience comes with it.

Helmets are supplied and fitted for every rider — not optional. The route is flat, sealed and on shared paths away from traffic wherever possible, and every ride is guided, with basic first-aid support carried throughout.

The most common injury on a footbike is none. Your feet are already at ground level and the bail-out is standing still.

Is there an age or weight limit?

We size bikes from about age eight upwards, and there is no upper age limit — our oldest riders are well into their seventies.

Bikes are rated to 120 kg. If anyone in your group is close to that, tell us when you book and we will bring a frame suited to it rather than making it an issue on the day.

What should we wear?

Enclosed shoes — runners are ideal, thongs and heels are not — and comfortable clothes you can move in, suitable for the weather. You are standing up the whole time, so nothing needs to be cycling-specific.

A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for anything between October and April, and a light layer if the weather is cooler. Bring a water bottle that fits a regular bicycle bottle holder.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

We quote per group rather than publishing a price list. The number depends on group size, which experience you choose, the day of the week and whether you want refreshments included.

Send an enquiry with your rough numbers and date and you will have an indicative price within one business day.

What is included?

A footbike for each participant, a helmet, a short introduction and riding guidance, the guided ride itself, support throughout, regular stops and basic first-aid support. Team Ride + Challenge adds the challenges and their materials.

Not included: food and drinks unless you have asked for them, and transport for your group. Both appear as separate lines on the quote so you can see what you are paying for.

Do you invoice? Can we pay by purchase order?

Yes to both. We invoice on standard business terms and we are set up for purchase orders, supplier onboarding and whatever vendor forms your finance team uses.

Social and private bookings usually pay a deposit to hold the date and the balance before the day.
